Creating Memories One Adventure at a Time

Christmas in Europe

December 11 to 24, 2024

Our Trip

Earlier this year, Jared accepted a position at CERN and is now living in France. Instead of having him return home to Texas for Christmas, we decided to visit him in Europe. Unfortunately, Fiona was unable to get time off work, so only Jewel, Mark, and I traveled to Europe.

When we left for the airport, the weather in Texas was beautiful, with bright blue skies and sunshine, and temperatures in the low 60s. At the airport, we checked in and headed to the Capital One Lounge, thanks to Jewel. It was a lovely treat before boarding our flight.

Our plane arrived safely in Amsterdam, but we did not disembark at a gate. Instead, we exited the plane and boarded buses that took us to the terminal. The weather in the Netherlands was cold and rainy.

On our last visit to Amsterdam, we faced long lines at passport control, which left us anxious about traveling during the busy Christmas season. However, we were pleasantly surprised this time: the lines were short, and we breezed through in no time. This efficient experience made our arrival even more enjoyable!

Itinerary

Our two-week adventure allowed us to immerse ourselves in the charm of the Netherlands, Belgium, and France.

With a primary focus on the enchanting holiday season and festive Christmas markets, we also indulged in delicious cuisine, explored fascinating museums, and engaged in a variety of unique activities.
