Creating Memories One Adventure at a Time

Christmas in Europe

December 11 to 24, 2024

Earlier this year, Jared accepted a position working at CERN and now lives in France. Rather than having him come home to Texas for Christmas, we decided to join him in Europe. Unfortunately, Fiona could not get off work, so Jewel, Mark, and I traveled to Amsterdam.

When we left for the airport, the weather in Texas was beautiful! Bright blue skies and sunshine. Temperatures in the low 60s. At the airport, we checked in and headed to the Capitol One Lounge, thanks to Jewel. What a nice treat before boarding our flight.

Our plane arrived safely in Amsterdam but not at a gate. Instead, we exited the plane and boarded buses to the terminal. The weather in the Netherlands was cold and rainy.

The last time we traveled to Amsterdam, the passport control lines were long. We worried traveling at Christmas would be worse, but to our surprise, the lines were short and we got through super-fast.

Itinerary

Our 2-week trip gave us the opportunity to visit the Netherlands, Belgium, and France.

While our main focus was on experiencing the holidays and Christmas markets in each country, we certainly made time for great food, museums, and activities.
